The Brand
NJ Jewels, previously Nicki Jean was born as a dedication to Lori's mother, Nancy Jean Mills who passed away in 2010. Lori found a form of therapy at a local bead store she often visited. She came up with a unique design coined, The Halo that reminded her her that though she was not still physically with her, she would always surround her with her love and memories. This love of creating became a business. Lori took many jewelry design classes to perfect her craft and bring quality to her pieces. She then started selling her treasures at different local boutiques, markets, and on to stores around the country!
Adding trunk shows, now live sales as well, to interact with her customers, helped pave the way to her LAYER. STACK. COLLECT. Styling her clients to help them find their individual look is loved by all. Dainty and minimalistic or an arm party to the elbow, that personal touch sets her apart from just selling you a bracelet or a necklace. Showcasing her fun materials and layering, with her eye for design and fashion will help you with endless combinations to keep your style game strong. The Designer
NJ Jewels is a vision of Lori Mills a native of Illinois inspired by city living, blissful travels, and a lot of creativity that came from her mama!
As a child, growing up she would make necklaces while fishing with her father from lures and beads she would get from a local bead store. She started selling tomatoes out of their garden, stickers from the local emporium to make money to buy beads. Selling friendship pins she beaded for sneakers at school to fund this newly found and loved creativity.
That passion continued through high school working with her mother, Nancy selling the oh-and so popular silver charms and bangle bracelets from Mexico in the 90's to handcrafted jeweler pieces by a local jeweler. Conducting pop-ups at lunchtime at local businesses.
The joy of helping people feel special, beautiful inside and out or simply boosting confidence is truly one of Lori's lifelong passions.
